Cameron University faculty member Thomas Labe` will present a solo recital at the Simmons Center in Duncan as part of the CU@SC series.

Titled "An Evening in Spain," the program features piano music by Spanish composers.  The performance begins at 7:30pm and will be preceded by an exhibit of student artwork from the CU Department of Art in the Simmons Center lobby.

With this program taking place in February, "remarked Labe`, "it could well be a blustery winter night which would make the strains of Spanish music - with its evocation of sun drenched landscapes, flamenco dancing, bustling seaports and the like, along with its rhythmic vitality and contagious exuberance - a most welcome diversion!"

As a soloist and recording artist, Labe` has performed in recitals and with orchestras on three continents and has recorded for the Dorian, Naxos and Arkadia labels and his seven commercially released compact discs are heard with great frequency on the playlists of classical music stations the world over.
