Aggies blow Storm away in LSC play

LAWTON, Oklahoma (January 30) – Hustle was the name of the game tonight as the Cameron Aggie men’s basketball team (4-15, 2-2 LSC North) won their second consecutive conference battle. The Aggies hosted the Savage Storm of Southeastern Oklahoma State (3-16, 0-4 LSC North) and won by the score 71-55. Cameron was in control throughout and really put on an impressive performance for a huge crowd of black and gold fans. The Aggies have now won two in a row.

Savage Storm drops CU at home

LAWTON, Oklahoma (January 30) – A solid performance both offensively and defensively was simply not enough tonight in Aggie Gym as the Cameron women’s basketball team (3-16, 0-4 LSC North) fell to a very tough Southeastern Oklahoma State Savage Storm squad (11-8, 2-2 LSC North). The final score had SOSU defeating CU, 82-71. Cameron was able to come within a single basket of Southeastern’s lead, but in the end did not have enough to win their first conference game of the season.

Late free throws give CU men big win

TAHLEQUAH, Oklahoma (January 26) – A late free throw gave the Aggie men’s basketball team (3-15, 1-2 LSC North) the point they needed to knock off the Northeastern State RiverHawks (8-10, 2-2) for their first conference win of the season. The teams battled back and forth in a game that was extremely suspenseful. The Aggies took the lead for the final time with only a second left on the clock and won the game 78-77.

RiverHawks hand Aggie women tough road loss

TAHLEQUAH, Oklahoma (January 26) – The Cameron Aggie women’s basketball team (3-15, 0-3 LSC North) remains winless in Lone Star Conference North Division play after falling to the Northeastern State RiverHawks (10-9, 3-1 LSC North) on the road this afternoon. The RiverHawks defeated the Aggies 79-62. Cameron has now lost three games in a row.

Goodwin bolsters CU golf with McGrath signing

LAWTON, Oklahoma (January 25) – Cameron Aggie head women’s golf coach Rick Goodwin today officially announced the signing of Kass McGrath, a redshirt sophomore, to his squad for the 2008-2009 season. McGrath has already begun taking classes at Cameron this semester but will not begin playing until next fall. She is the younger sister of former Aggie golf standout Janel Bailey and the daughter of Harry Bailey III, who also played collegiate golf at CU.

LAWTON, Oklahoma (January 23) – Early on it looked as if Cameron was going to run away with the victory and rack up their third home win of the season tonight in Aggie Gym. Unfortunately, the tables turned and the Aggie men’s basketball team (2-15, 0-2 LSC-N) could not defeat the East Central University Tigers (10-7, 1-2 LSC-N). The game was scored 95-76. The Aggies were on top for nearly the entire first half, but could not hang on for the win.

LAWTON, Oklahoma (January 23) – Tonight in Aggie Gym the Cameron Aggie women’s basketball team (3-14, 0-2 LSC-N) nearly pulled off a victory against the Tigers of East Central University (10-7, 1-2 LSC-N). The game was close throughout, but in the end CU did not have enough for the win. The final score was 67-61, in favor of ECU. Tonight’s loss was Cameron’s second in a row.

Tonight the Aggies traveled to Dallas to take on the Dallas Baptist Patriots (5-9), and came away with a 98-91 overtime defeat. The two teams matched up last year in Lawton with Cameron taking the 84-82 victory.

Aggies zap Zias and win 67-42

LAWTON, Oklahoma (January 12) – This afternoon in Cameron’s Aggie Gym, the Cameron women’s basketball team (3-12) put on a very impressive showing in a 67-42 defeat of the Eastern New Mexico Zias (3-10). The Aggies outplayed ENMU in nearly every aspect of the game, and overcame a 37.7% team shooting percentage to take the victory. The game was CU’s final non-conference game this season.

Cameron lost tonight to a very talented West Texas A&M Lady Buff (9-3) team by the score 67-47. Cameron has continued to improve in nearly every aspect of their game, but can't seem to get over the hump.

ABILENE, Texas (January 5) – The high-scoring, hot-shooting Cameron Aggie men’s basketball team (2-10) came up just short tonight in Abilene, Texas. The Aggies were unable to hold onto their lead and fell to the Abilene Christian University Wildcats (10-2), 107-98. In their last three contests, the Aggie men are averaging 107 points per game. Tonight’s loss was CU’s second in their current two-game road trip.

SAN ANGELO, Texas (January 3) – Looking to secure their third victory in a row, the Cameron Aggie men’s basketball team (2-9) came up just short tonight in San Angelo, Texas. The Aggie men lost a close one to the Angelo State University Rams (10-3), falling by the score 91-85. Cameron played a very strong game and looked as if they would pull off the victory, but an ASU run late in the game sealed the game for the Rams.

LAWTON, Oklahoma (December 30) – Make it two in a row for the Cameron Aggie men’s basketball team (2-8), who tonight won their second straight game in a thriller. The Cameron Aggies defeated the Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggies, but needed overtime to do it. The final score was 115-109, in favor of Cameron who has now put up more than 100 points in two straight games.

The Cameron Aggie women’s basketball team (2-9) won a huge game this afternoon against a very stout Central Missouri Jennie squad (5-6). The final score was 71-68 in favor of the Aggies, who were behind for the majority of the game. The match-up was CU’s second and final game at the Cruizin’ Classic basketball tournament in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (December 18) – Tonight the Aggie women’s basketball team (1-9) once again led a highly-ranked team but was unable to hold on for the victory. Taking part in the Cruizin’ Classic in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, the Aggie women tonight matched up against the nationally ranked (#7) Lady Blues of Washburn University (7-1). Although CU led the game into the second-half, the Aggies were not able to hold on and lost by the score 57-45.
