A few years ago my Mom had some plumbers out to the house because there was a slight gas leak and they needed to run raise the hot water tank up from the floor to meet the city of lawton codes, and run a new gas line under the kitchen. It was going to cost $300 just for an under the house inspection.
When the work was being done a foreman was out there looking at everything and I heard him tell one of the plumbers that they did not need to go under the house and could just tape into the gas line that was not being used for a gas stove, only a few feet away since the hot water tank was on the other side of the kitchen wall, in the garage.
I thought to myself, good now it will save me $300 dollars. BUT GUESS WHAT they did not do that, they still went under the house!
I told my Mom not to pay the full amount and to complain to the company but she would not do that and allowed herself to be ripped off.
The company is PIPPIN BROTHERS! I call them Rippoff Brothers.
Another plumbing company that came for some bids offered to do the work for less than the bid so I could cheat the insurance company or some other thing that was illegal, I do not really remember now as it has been several years. I do not remember their name.
I have had good results with Andy's Plumbing when they have been out here to do any work and would recommend them.
There is no law in OK against a business ripping off their customers. Yes it is true. If you steal a candy bar the cops will come with lights flashing and take you to jail but if a business steals from a customer then the customer must file a lawsuit in court to try to get their money back.
Arkansas has a law that makes it illegal and they will go after people like handymen and remodelers and plumbers etc who cheat their customers, they are prosecuted.
