Moving to Lawton soon!  

Hello all,

My husband and i are PCSing to Fort Sill and this is our first time EVER coming to Oklahoma.  When I first started researching the area, all I found were negative things being said about the community.  I just came across this website (lawtoninfo.com) and now that I have looked around, Lawton doesn't seem so bad!  I believe that every community has struggles.  I am from a very small town in Minnesota (population less than 5,000) so I'm sure I have some adjusting to do! 

  Any info about the community in general would be great.  I am also looking for a daycare with really really good references!  If anyone knows of one, please let me know!

Lawton is trying to overcome some negative viewpoints about it's appearance through organizations like Lawton Beautiful, Inc.  Cameron University has been involved with several beautiful building projects and is acquiring a very good reputation as a good source for online education.  Things are looking better.  As for the daycare environment, I'm not much help..no kids but there are several large school-type day care facilities and many accredited in-home centers.  This is something that word of mouth is especially good for.  I hope someone is able to help.
