So what's up with this season of American Idol?
At first it seemed like a promising season. The tryouts turned up a lot of talent. Then, things started to happen....
I don't think Josiah Leming should have left! He was good. Sure, he cried all the time, but his voice was good.
Then there's the two industry rejects getting in! American Idol is supposed to find undisovered talents and help them get record labels.
But this season, Carly Smithson (Carly Hennessy before she was married) gets another chance to make it in the music industry through American Idol; and this is after her first album bombed! This season in unsurpassed in scandal and talent! I mean, David Hernandez has a bad history, and Kristi and Carly already have albums. But, there is some great undicovered talent in this season yet, especially with the boys! David Archueleta is unreal- his talent is on a higher calibur than the rest. I think he will end up winning, and even if he doesn't, he will be the most successful from this season. Another of my faves is David Cook. His performance on 80's night was excellent! Ok, so the Beatles songs have been great, but everyone either chokes or does amazing- even David A. did bad the first Beatles week! Thankfully, he redeemed himslef the next week. As far as talent goes, it's all the boys this year, and it's quickly turing into a showdown between David Archueleta and David Cook. Although David A. probably has a better voice when it comes down to it, I prefer David C. because I like his style of music better and he plays guitar, which is cool. The best song so far this season is either David C's "Hello" or David A.'s "Imagine".
I loved David C's version of Eleanor Rigby! That's my favorite Beatles song- not that I'm 'into' the Beatles, but with so many songs it's impossible not to like at least a few. Here it is- http://youtube.com/watch?v=idtHZac2dNs

It's the week of the finale, and sure enough, it's David Vs. David. I really hope David C. wins- I would buy his CD right now! Not that David A. isn't good too, but I'm just not into his style of music. It's hard to say who will win- we'll have to wait and see!
