3rd Annual Mystery Art Fest

The Kemp Center for the Arts is looking for artists to participate in their 3rd Annual Mystery Art Fest which will be held on October 10, 2009.  This event will feature an exhibit of 8 x 10 pieces of art created and donated by local and regional artists and sold by silent auction.  Sales of the art benefit the Kemp Center for the Arts.

All artists are invited to submit an 8 x 10 painting or work of art that will be shown in this exhibit.  Categories include watercolor, oil, acrylics, jewelry art, glass and mosaics.  Photography is not included in this exhibit.  Interested participants may come by the Kemp to pick up an 8 x 10 canvas or use their own materials working with the 8 x 10 measurement.  The deadline for submitting unframed art is September 15.  The Kemp Center will provide the framing.

Artwork selected for the silent auction will be available for viewing in the NorthLight Gallery by September 25.  On October 10, the public will be given a chance to bid on the artwork during the Mystery Art Fest.  Only when the art has been sold, will the buyer find out who created the piece.  A fun evening has been planned to include refreshments and an introduction of participating artists.

Cash prizes will be provided through the generosity of Alcoa – Howmet.  The various categories for this exhibit will be judged by Nancy Anderson of Leslie Powell Gallery in Lawton, Oklahoma.
