Polar Bear Plunge: February 6th, 2010

The Polar Plunge in Medicine Park last year was one of the biggest if not the biggest in the history of the event. But then again the temperature was above average.

This year the way things are going there may be some ice breaking in Bath Lake. It takes the brave or the fool hardy (opinion varies based on jumper or non-jumper status) to pull this off but the more the merrier.. The age span can go from 5 to Santa (and he’s not revealing his age).

Now one might think it gets old. It doesn’t. Always new jumpers, always seasoned jumpers donning new garb. Case in point: Bill Patty OPTEI (Official Park Tavern Event Instigator) has called for the Band of One to come in their band hats.

Jeannette will be there to give the first attempters their membership card.  So show up, jump or don’t, but join the fun.

This year the Fahrion’s will be there to record the event for the Park Tavern with their mini camcorder. Don’t forget to bring your cameras. See you Bath Lake and at the Park Tavern afterwards for a slice of giant sub, a beverage and bragging with musical accompaniment by Soul Survivor. As always…if you an out-of-towner snag a cottage, cabin or B&B and make a weekend of it.

Parade starting from the Park Tavern down to Bath Lake begins at 2:00 sharp, don’t be late.

Always great to see our friends from the media including the Constitution and KSWO recording this bit of fun. We also love to see folks from the media jump in.
